Ceramist STUDIO

VANCOUVER, BC

A garden that bridges the home and a ceramic studio. Deeply rooted in Japanese sensibility the garden is both muse for the artist owner and an inspiration to onlookers. Designed with an attention to craft and texture basalt stone is utilized in its many forms. An atmosphere of Inspiring restfulness provides a sense of journey to and from the studio and home. Raised linear element benches act as a definition to the plant foliage and also provide a surface on which to showcase ceramics during seasonal showings. The topography has been emphasized to create a greater sense of enclosure and comfort between parts of the garden. Symbolic landforms of hills, valleys, and rivers find their natural homes in the spatial order of this garden.
