PALO ALTO, CALIFORNIA

Our challenge was to create a generous spatial atmosphere within a tight neighbourhood context. Linear elements of stone and smooth formed concrete provide a welcome rhythm and structure to the garden allowing both wild and refined elements to feel equally at home. These deliberate hardscape elements merge with bold drifts of free form plant groupings, creating a diversity of character in limited space. Meaningful and generous outdoor spaces blend with horticulturally rich surroundings. Expertly crafted details of basalt stone, blackened stainless steel and hardwood aim to create a seamless transition of built quality between the landscape and architecture.
